Who we are and how to contact us

Information we process

When you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, company or organisation, email address, country or region, enquiry type and message. Please avoid including sensitive personal or financial information in your message.

Email address, enquiry type and message are required to submit the form. Your name, company or organisation, and country or region are optional. Without the required information, you cannot submit the form. You can also contact us directly by email.

When you visit the site, our hosting and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, request details and timestamps to deliver and protect the site and diagnose network problems.

When you submit the form, Web3Forms may also process technical metadata such as your IP address, the submission time and referring page.

How and why we use information

We use enquiry information to respond to you, discuss products or services and manage related business communications. We use technical information to deliver and protect the site, prevent abuse and investigate connection or security problems.

Where a legal basis is required, depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we may process information to take steps at your request before a contract, to pursue legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and operating and securing the site, or to comply with legal obligations. Submitting an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.

Service providers and international transfers

We use Cloudflare Pages and its CDN and security services to deliver the site. We use Web3Forms, operated by Web3Creative, to receive and forward contact form submissions to our email, and Google Workspace to store and manage our business email.

Web3Forms uses infrastructure providers including Amazon Web Services (including Amazon SES), Cloudflare and Hetzner. For spam prevention, a submitter's IP address and email address may be sent to CleanTalk or Akismet. These providers process information to provide their services to us or Web3Forms.

Information may be processed outside your country or region. Web3Creative operates from India and uses infrastructure in multiple regions. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism.

How long information is kept

BlackThorn normally keeps enquiry emails in Google Workspace for three years. We may keep information for a different period where needed for a particular matter, legal obligations, disputes or security, subject to applicable law.

Web3Forms states that submission data may be retained for up to three years from submission. The period for viewing submissions in its dashboard may differ by plan and should not be taken as the storage period. Its retention is separate from BlackThorn's email retention. Technical logs and backups may have different retention periods.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, or object to or request restriction of certain processing. You may also have other rights, including the right to complain to a relevant data protection authority.

To make a request, email info@blackthornmacau.com. We may need to verify your identity and will respond in accordance with applicable law. Rights and exceptions vary by jurisdiction.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, including secure connections for the website. Information sent over public networks may be accessed or used by unauthorised parties. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated date at the top shows when this notice was last revised.
